It is 100 years since Madge Stevens was born - Pt 15

28 Apr 1960, 10th grandchild, Jill (David & Heather’s 2nd)

Personal Memory; We got into a great discussion about various times we spent with Aunt Madge, and naturally, all the fun we had when we were together. One of my earliest recollections of time spent together was my 6th birthday (6 Jul 1954). We were out in Calgary, visiting Nana (I'm not sure if you knew her or not - she was Aunt Madge's sister-in-law, or you may have known her as Aunt Annie) and Aunt Madge. Nana lived in a retirement home, and so our time was spent between "Sunset Lodge" and Aunt Madge's home. They fussed over me, and I received, and still have, the necklace Aunt Madge gave me - a prism like heart shaped crystal necklace. For many years, either we went out West during the summer for our annual visit, or Aunt Madge and Nana came to Ontario and spent several weeks with us. I realize now, they were like two grandmothers coming to be with us, as they were the only close family my Mother had alive. John and I were fortunate enough to have Aunt Madge and Gran present for our wedding, (July 19, 1975) and they took part in all the pre-wedding events. How lucky for us!!!
