17 Jul 1993, Son in-law Ian Bamber dies. Saturday morning he had said to his Mother-in-law Madge, "Come on Old Relic, you had better get ready we are going into town."
He got up from the dining table and then indicated he didn't feel too good, got as far as the kitchen sink and then collapsed on the floor from heart failure.
