An extract from book Family N.W. 12-49-9W4
“Fred Humphrey came to Canada on April 26, 1905 along with four other men from Whitstable, England.

They took up homesteads quite close to each other and worked all summer where they could. Rosalie Harris was from Meppershall in Bedfordshire in England and set out to be a bridesmaid at her friends wedding in Canada.

The first night she was introduced to all the boys and that is how she got to know Fred, and eleven months after she met him, they were married.
Rose Humphrey went on to say she “had a real good nurse when her babies came. There was no hospital in Mannville at the time, but Mrs. Hinecker was a splendid nurse.”
